Fayetteville, WV woman charged with credit card fraud

Law enforcement officers in Fayette County made an arrest in an investigation involving a stolen credit/debit card.  Amanda Star Bowyer, 34, of Fayetteville, WV is charged with five counts of computer fraud and five counts of fraudulent use of an access device.

Deputies went to Bowyer's house on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018 to make the arrest.  She is accused of taking a bank card from a family member's home and charging up several hundred dollars worth of purchases.

"Stealing from family is very tragic, but is also very common," said Sheriff Mike Fridley.  "Sometimes tough love is the better option rather than ignoring the problem and enabling bad habits."

Bowyer was arraigned in front of a Fayette County Magistrate.  Her bond is set at $25,000.
