NEW DETAILS: Victim of Neola fire passes away

ANTHONY CREEK, W.Va. (WVNS) - 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017 UPDATE:

Officials in Greenbrier County announced on Thursday morning that the man who was found in a home that burned along Route 92 has passed away.  His identity has not been released.  According to officials the man lived alone.


(WVNS) -- Crews responded to a structure fire at a home along Route 92, right outside of Neola at around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Fire crews tell 59News one person was caught in a burning building in the Anthony Creek area.

Firefighters were able to get the victim out of the house. He was taken to a hospital, but his condition and name have not been released.

Firefighters were still on the scene more than two hours later. Crews from Anthony Creek and White Sulphur Springs Fire Departments were on the scene as well as Deputies with the Greenbrier County Sheriff's Department.

The home is considered a total loss.
