UPDATE: One person flown to hospital following four-vehicle accident

GREENBRIER COUNTY, W. Va. (WVNS) -- One person was flown to the hospital following a four-vehicle accident Monday morning, according to troopers. 

Greenbrier County Deputies and West Virginia State Police responded to the crash on I-64 East near mile-marker 168.  Troopers said the call came in around 8 am. 

Troopers confirm one person was flown to Roanoke Area Hospital.  They said a second person might have also been flown.  Their injuries are unknown at this hour. 

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Troopers said the interstate has re-opened.

GREENBRIER COUNTY, W. Va. (WVNS) -- Two lanes of I-64 are shutdown as crews work to clear the scene of an accident. 

Officials tell 59 News the accident happened in the Eastbound lanes of I-64 near mile marker 168- a mile outside of Lewisburg. Both lanes of the interstate are shut down at this time. 

The number of vehicles involved in the accident is unknown at this hour. Dispatchers said injuries were reported but the number and the severity is also unknown at this time.  

Dispatchers said they do not know when the interstate will reopen.
