UPDATE: Victim in dozer accident identified

2:30 p.m. Jan. 2, 2018 UPDATE:

Officials with the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources have released new details on an accident involving a dozer in McDowell County, WV.  It happened just after noon on New Year's Day.

The victim was identified as James Casey, 46, of Richlands, VA.   Casey was last reported in critical condition.


WINDMILL GAP, W. Va. -- In McDowell County, one person was hurt in a bulldozer accident.  The call came in after 12 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 1, 2017, in Windmill Gap.

Sources at the North Fork Fire Department tell 59 News the accident happened after a bulldozer fell off an embankment on a logging site.

The victim was flown to a nearby hospital for treatment.  At this time, officials are not releasing the victim's condition or identity.
