Accident involving multiple vehicles slows traffic on Route 460

BLUEFIELD, W. Va. (WVNS) -- A car accident closed Route 460 in Mercer County for part of the evening on Friday, December 15.

Emergency dispatchers told 59News the crash happened around 5:45 p.m. near Mercer Mall in Bluefield. They said three vehicles were believed to be involved, and at least one person was transported to a local hospital.

The Princeton Rescue Squad, the Bluefield Rescue Squad and Green Valley Fire Department responded, along with West Virginia State Police. 

The road was closed, but as of 8:45 p.m. all lanes were open to traffic. 

Limited details were released, and the accident remains under investigation by State Police.
