LATEST: Victim identified in Christmas Day Homicide

2:19 p.m. Dec. 27, 2017 UPDATE:

Chief Howell of the Princeton Police Department said Angela Seal, 34, of Princeton, WV is the victim in a homicide investigation.  It happened at 415 Mercer Street on Christmas Day.

There is a suspect in custody. Right now, he is being detained on unrelated charges, his name is not being released at this time.

1:30 p.m. Dec. 27, 2017 UPDATE:

Police in Princeton are investigating a body found in an apartment on Christmas Day.  The person was found dead by a family member.  Officers said they are investigating it as a homicide.  Further details on the investigation were not available.

PRINCETON, W.Va (WVNS) -- On December 25, 2017, Princeton Police and Princeton Rescue Squad were called to the 400-block of Mercer Street after the body of a woman was found by a family member.

Detectives told 59 News the autopsy will be conducted tomorrow.  No arrests have been made, but the case still remains under investigation.
