Concord to Celebrate Black History Month, Racial Diversity All February

ATHENS, WV (WVNS) -- Concord University will be honoring Black History Month in February 2018 with various events from alumni and special guests.  The calendar features a performance by the Martin Luther King Chorus and a play directed by an alumnus called "The Passing of Pearl."  Andrew Sulgit, CU's director of student activities & events, views this as a reflection of their inclusiveness for all students coming from all over the world.

"You might think a small school in southern West Virginia wouldn't have a burgeoning population of international students, but we do," Sulgit said.  "[It] adds to sort of the richness of the campus."

These events are free and open to the public. To see the full calendar of events, click here.
