Princeton, Bluefield chambers of commerce merger up for vote

BLUEFIELD, WV (WVNS) -- As of February 12, 2018, ballots have been mailed out for area residents to vote on whether the Greater Bluefield Chamber of Commerce will merge with the Princeton-Mercer County Chamber of Commerce.

Voting will end on February 23rd and must be postmarked by 5 pm that day.

Greater Bluefield Chamber of Commerce President-CEO Joshua Cline believes this new alliance will allow a bigger net to be cast for new businesses.

"We're just increasing our network of businesses and the businesses within that region that we can serve," Cline said.  "There's strength in numbers. That's one of the biggest reasons why we do that."

If the motion passes, a naming contest for the new joint chamber of commerce will be open to the public.
