Princeton hosts 5th Annual Downtown-Countdown

In less than a week people will be counting down the last seconds of 2017, and one local town is pulling out all the stops to celebrate the new year.

The Princeton Renaissance Project is hosting its 5th Annual Downtown-Countdown on Mercer Street. Downtown Princeton will be packed with live entertainment, virtual reality games, and a new black-light arts space.

Lori McKinney, Downtown-Countdown Organizer, said people will also get to watch the ball drop and fireworks go off as they ring in the new year.

"Traditionally, in the area, a lot of people have watched other people have fun on TV on New Years Eve in New York city. But this is our chance to make something really exciting together and make beautiful memories right here in our hometown," McKinney explained.

Doors open at 8:30 p.m. on News Years Eve night. All-access passes are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and students. Veterans and children under 10 are free. People can also watch the ball drop for free after 11:30 p.m.
