MERCER COUNTY, W. Va. (WVNS) -- Seven people were arrested on Wednesday after local law enforcement conducted a drug sweep across Mercer County.
Deputies said the suspects were from Mercer County but were traveling to Tazewell County to deal drugs.
Tazewell County Deputies with the U.S. Marshal and Fugitive Recovery Unit along with the West Virginia Probation Office and West Virginia State Police took part in the sweep.
According to Tazewell County Deputies, all seven who were arrested on Wednesday are facing felony drug charges. Their names have not been released at this time.
Deputies said the suspects were taken to Mercer County for booking and have since been extradited back to Tazewell County.
Investigators do not believe the suspects were working together.
