Local Church Provides Meals on Christmas Day

Every year, The United Methodist Temple in Beckley puts on a community wide Christmas dinner.

On Christmas Day from 11-12 p.m. volunteers with the church served and prepared lots of food for this event. Ham, turkey, dressing, gravy were just some of the Christmas bites they were serving. This was for anyone that is homebound or anyone just in need of somewhere to eat on Christmas.  Volunteer, Jeff Walker, said it feels good to help those out on the holidays.

"We just think it's important on Christmas to put Christ back in Christmas and this is a way of giving back to the community," Walker said.

They also provided children with Christmas gifts to go home with. All of the extra food that they have will go to local organizations and the homeless shelter.
