Fire reported at Raleigh County Mexican restaurant

Beaver, W.Va. (WVNS) - Raleigh County fire crews rushed to the scene of a reported fire at a Mexican restaurant in Beaver.

The Public Information Officer with the Beaver Volunteer Fire Department, Lieutenant R. Garten, said just after 2:00 p.m. Jan. 1, 2018, firefighters noticed smoke outside the doors of El Mariachi.

Crews said they put out a small fire that was behind the grill area.  The business received moderate damage in the kitchen area and is required to make repairs prior to reopening.

No one was injured in the fire.

The West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire. The Raleigh County Sheriffs Office also responded to assist with the scene.
