2 arrested after starving dog found in Raleigh County

Two people in Raleigh County have been arrested after deputies said they abandoned a dog inside of a home.

Deputies said they  were called to a home in Cool Ridge on March 7, 2018 where they said a dog was abandoned when the owners moved out out weeks earlier.

Deputies said the dog was starving and near death. They said the dog survived by eating diapers and trash left in the home.

Joshua and Amy Hall were arrested and charged with animal cruelty. Both were arraigned and posted bond.

Raleigh County Animal Control took the dog to the Raleigh County Humane Society.
