$18,000 seized in Summers County drug bust

SUMMERS COUNTY, W. Va. (WVNS) — Deputies find thousands of dollars in cash, along with drugs and weapons in a major drug bust in Summers County.

According to Sheriff Garry Wheeler, David Wayne Lilly, of Summers County, was wanted in Greenbrier County for failing to appear for a preliminary hearing. On Thursday, an off-duty Summers County deputy reportedly saw Lilly at a business in Hinton, and was able to detain him.
Sheriff Wheeler said Bobbi Jean Cole was in the vehicle with Lilly at the time, and when she opened the glove box, the deputy discovered a loaded gun. Investigators said Cole also had a small amount of drugs on her.
After detaining both suspects, a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 73 grams of crystal meth and $18,000 in cash, according to Sheriff Wheeler.
Lilly is being charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver. He is being held at Southern Regional Jail on a $150,000 bond. Cole was also taken into custody. She’s being held on a $50,000 bond.
