Summers County man arrested on strangulation charges

HINTON, W. Va. (WVNS) -- A Summers County man is facing charges of domestic batters, strangulation and possession. 

Christopher Lee Cook of Hinton was arrested on Saturday, December 16 after deputies responded to his home on Madams Creek Road for a domestic violence call. 

The complaint states Cook slammed a family member against a wall, causing the victim to hit their head. When another family member stepped into help, Cook allegedly knocked him to the ground and put him in a chokehold. 

Summers County Deputies arrested Cook. Deputies said inside Cook's pocket, they found prescription pills. 

Cook is being held at the Southern Regional Jail on a $4,500 cash only bond.
