High School football star signs with WVU

Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2018 is national signing day, or what many call "college football's favorite holiday."  As a part of the events, one high school standout in the area made a commitment to become a Mountaineer.

Graham High School wide receiver and cornerback Taymon Cooke is headed to West Virginia University.  On Tuesday morning, he signed on the dotted line with his family, coaches, and  friends close by. Cooke said the signing  has been a longtime dream come true.

"This is the day I've been waiting for my whole life," Cooke said. " You know I just got to thank God, my family, my coaches, my teammates and my family.  This is the day I've been waiting for."

Cooke added that he hasn't decided on a major just yet. For the first year he'll focus on General Studies.
