Search for shooting suspect leads to 2 drug busts

BRENTON, W.VA. - The hunt is still on for a man in the middle of several arrests made the night of January 21 in Wyoming County. The search for Jerry Hall Jr. led Wyoming County Sheriff Deputies to arrest a couple after marijuana plants were found inside their home.

Deputies said it all began the night of January 21. According to Chief Deputy Jimmy White, deputies received a call about a possible break-in and shooting from the home of Jerry Hall Jr.'s father.

"We received a call of Jerry Hall Jr. trying to break-into his daddy's residence and in turn his dad shot him in the hand with a small caliber hand-gun," White explained.

Hall left the home before law enforcement arrived and that is when investigators began searching for Hall. Chief White said deputies believed Hall was at the home of James and Latoya Lester in the Rockhouse area.

"They obtained permission to go inside the residence. We believed the person who had been shot was inside the residence. We went in and the officers found that they were growing marijuana," White said.

Inside the hone, deputies found 16 marijuana plants and 39 grams of marijuana, along with other various marijuana manufacturing tools. James and Latoya Lester were both charged with manufacture of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of controlled substance.

Another arrest in Wyoming County that night also had a connection to Jerry Hall Jr. Wyoming County Sheriff Deputies confirmed that a women arrested on drug charges was the person who dropped off Hall at his father's home.

Rebecca Brown was arrested the night of January 21 for driving under the influence and for having drugs in her car. Before she was arrested, Brown was reportedly the person who took Hall to his father's house.

According to deputies, Brown was pulled over later that night for a traffic stop and found suboxone and marijuana in her car. Brown was charged with possession with intent to deliver, driving with a revoked license and DUI.

If anyone has information on Jerry Hall Jr's whereabouts, they are asked to contact the Wyoming County Sheriff's Department.
