CPD Hybrid Unit make several more arrests at Town Center Mall

CHARLESTON, WV-(WOWK) - The Charleston Police Department Hybrid Unit is continuing to make the Charleston Town Center a safer place to shop and work.

In a press conference today, Chief Steve Cooper of the Charleston Police Department said that the unit has netted 37 arrests this week, including 9 more just today, during their undercover stings at the Charleston Town Center and its immediate vicinity. 

Chief Cooper had this to say when asked should people feel safe at the Town Center.

"We want people to feel safe at the mall, you will see uniformed patrols, and you won't see the undercover officers there, but rest assured they are there."

Todays arrests ranged from Trespassing charges all the way up to Obstructing and Battery.

Below is a list of those arrested today and their charges.

Christopher M. Vance-Municipal traffic capias x2

Clifford Eugene Riley- Municipal capias for 1st offense shoplifting

Larry Benjamin Martin- Municipal capias x7 (3-open container, 2-trespassing, obstructing and battery, Mr. Martin was taken into custody and transported to South Central Regional Jail)

Kentayl Shami Miller- State capias for battery

Karl Hughes- Trespassing summons

Arthur Edens- Trespassing summons

Samuel Burdette- Trespassing summons

Floyd Franklin- Open container & Littering summons
