Marshall's offensive coordinator steps down

HUNTINGTON, WV (WOWK) - Marshall Offensive Coordinator and Tight Ends Coach Bill Legg has resigned.

Legg became the Herd's offensive coordinator in 2010, arriving at Marshall alongside Head Coach Doc Holliday.

After five consecutive years of growth, The Thundering Herd's total offense saw a steep decline in 2015 and 2016, before bouncing back somewhat in 2017.

In a release, Coach Holliday said of Legg, "Bill and I have known each other for a long time. I thank him for his contributions to our program and wish him and Kelly nothing but the best."

Legg said, "After much deliberation, I feel that it is time to step down. It has been a difficult decision because of many meaningful relationships. I want to thank all of those who have been supportive during my tenure and wish all the best to Marshall University, its student-athletes, my colleagues and coach Doc Holliday."

The team's search for Legg's replacement is underway.
