Story by Kate Krivanek

Since its start in 1981, SADD, Students Against Destructive Decisions, has become an organization dedicated to preventing underage drinking, drug use, impaired driving, teen violence and teen depression and suicide.

To honor SADD's 25th anniversary, Gov. Joe Manchin has declared Saturday as Students Against Destructive Decisions Day in the Mountain State.

West Virginia SADD has scheduled a conference for 4 p.m. Oct. 27-28 at the Holiday Inn Charleston House.

SADD was founded as Students Against Drunk Driving.
