BECKLEY- -- They make look harmless, but doctors say veins on your legs could be dangerous.
The West Virginia Vein and Skin Center hosted free screening Friday at Tamarack.
Doctors say while everyone knows the importance of heart disease, few people know the seriousness of major vein diseases.
Studies show dangerous blood clots form in the leg veins of more than 2.5 million Americans each year. The screenings, which included ultrasound technology, was sponsored by the National Venous Screening Program.
