His injuries were not believed to be serious.
A Huntington man was taken to a hospital Thursday morning after a dog attacked him.
The man, whose name was not immediately available, told police he was attacked as he was walking past a home in the 4200 block of Auburn Avenue. He said a pit bull bit him several times on the stomach and legs.
Neighbors told 13 News that two pit bulls live at the home, but only one of the dogs was involved in the attack.
Animal control officers and Huntington police went to the home, but no one answered the door. They said they believe the owner took the dogs and left.
The man was taken to Cabell Huntington Hospital for treatment. His injuries were not thought to be serious.
Under Huntington's new pit bull guidelines, the dogs must be quarantined at the Cabell Wayne Animal Shelter for 10 days following an attack.
