ATHENS -- The only 4 star army general in West Virginia makes a visit to Mercer County.

Army General Doctor Robert Foglesong spoke at Concord University Wednesday night.

Doctor Foglesong came to speak with students about service in the community.

His more than 30 years of leadership lead him to start the Appalachain Leadership and Educational Foundation.

Concord University was the first school to jump start the program.

They represent the largest group in the state.

For the second year they've partnered with the Salvation Army to raise money for the holiday season.

The students were the first in history to ring the bell in the town of Athens.

Wednesday night, they shared their success with their founder.

The students collected monetary donations at the door.

All of that money will go to the Salvation Army.

Leaders in the group are starting another service project.

The students will be working with the United Way.

All of the money they raise in those future projects will stay in the Concord Community.

Doc Fogelsong is NOT an US Army General. He is a retired Air Force 4-Star General. He was the Commander U.S. Air Forces Europe at Ramstein Air Base Germany. He was the architect behind the Combat Proud initiative---that failed--and the Kaiserslautern Military Shopping Mall -- currently under investigation---(How do I know?...I was there.)

He retired to a position as President of Miss. State University -- and was later forced to resign because he treated people as if the were in the military. No prior experience, other than the initiating the unaccredited USAFE University.

However, he is a WVU alumni! Go Mountainees!
