BECKLEY- -- Spring is finally here and for many people that means it's time to clean.
And, officials at the Raleigh County Solid Waste Authority remind you it's easy to make your spring cleaning green.
They say with every load of trash you bring for disposal at the landfill you can also drop off recyclable items.
All newspaper, cardboard and aluminum cans can be recycled.
Metal from old appliances can be melted down and reused.
Officials say they plan to have crushers for old appliances or even cars available for use later this year. They say if you find items you don't want anymore that are still good, you can donate them to the new Second Chance Mercantile at the Solid Waste Authority.
