A rally in Raleigh County is taking on a historic note.
BECKLEY -- Hundreds gathered at Beckley's Word Memorial Park Saturday to speak out about their concerns regarding where their tax dollar are going with all of the federal government bailouts.
They're calling it a TEA Party as a reference to the historic Boston Tea Party in 1773.
Organizers say TEA stands for "Taxed Enough Already."
"We're getting together so our government can hear what we have to say. We're tired of not being heard," said Elaine Barnett of Sophia.
"If we make these investments in infrastructure right now, eventually we're going to sew the seeds for economic growth," said Raleigh County Democratic Party Chairman Joe Brouse.
Democrats are encouraging people to be patient. They believe the tax dollars will pay off once the economy gets turned back around.
Protestors says a petition will be sent to West Virginia's representatives in Congress.
They've already scheduled a second TEA Party April 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
