Head Start Students Learn About Healthy Habits in Raleigh County

BECKLEY- -- Toddlers get an early start on healthy habits.

Kids with Head Start in Beckley learned more about physical activity and healthy food choices. Its all part of the Choosy Kids program set up by WVU.

The program focuses on children ages 3 through 5 years old.

The community action association has involved all 4 head start schools.

A nutritionist tracks the students growth to make sure they are on the track to a healthy lifestyle.

The research shows that it can take a child up to 14 times to try a new food.

The program introduces the kids to fresh fruits and vegetables.
