Gun charges and domestic battery charges filed

By Rontina McCann

COAL CITY--  -- Deputies in Raleigh County arrested a convicted felon Monday on wanton endangerment, gun charges and domestic battery.

Robert Gary Meador of Coal City is charged in this case.

Authorities said he pulled out a 12-gauge shot gun and fired a round before pointing the gun at Danny Stubbs.

In a press release, Deputies said Stubbs left the house while a woman was still trapped inside by Meador.

Authorities said Meador got into an argument with the woman and hit her, then police arrived and defused the situation.

According to Deputies, Meador shouldn't have owned a firearm because he was a convicted felon.

He bonded out and has a preliminary hearing next week.

Ok a convicted felon w/a firearm, committing domestic violence threatening people w/a weapon, and HE BONDS OUT . How does that work? In my opinion he should have been held until the hearing,(he is a convicted felon) were there any restraining orders issued? I hope this woman has armed herself, thanks to the magistrate he's out and about now, free to commit more crimes .SAD
