GHENT- -- A cornucopia of color took to wing in Raleigh County, Tuesday.
Students at Ghent Elementary school released butterflies into the wild Tuesday afternoon.
The kids raised the insects as a part of the Close Encounters Project.
Students from Pre-K to 5th grade were involved.
And Butterflies weren't the only bugs they got a chance to raise.
Others included Ladybugs, the Luna Moth, and the Preying Mantis.
Some kids even got a special bonus. The project was funded by a grant from the Beckley Area Foundation.
