Blame construction work nearby for continuing problems.
Story by Alicia Suka
PINEY VIEW -- Donna Lacek says she lived in her Piney View home for 20 years without problems, now she says recent bull-dozing on adjacent property has caused mud and flooding problems.
Lacek says she's called several different agencies for help. The advice she gets, "Most of them said they didn't handle that type of thing and told me to get a lawyer. But when you're on a fixed income, social security you can't run uptown and pay three or four thousand dollars for a lawyer."
But she says she's come to the point where she doesn't have any other options.
Her neighbor, Lewis Prince, says he experiences the same problems. After heavy rains on Thursday, he says his yard was filled with 3 feet of water and yellow mud. "I'm frustrated. I feel a lof of emotions about this like anger and tenseness. Lots of tenseness."
