Name Released,Camper Drowns In New River

A man's body has been recovered, after he drowned in the New River in Raleigh County.

TERRY -- UPDATE-- We now know the name of the drowning victim.

Rangers tell 13 News that 33-year-old Jeremy Price of Arnett was swimming downstream near Terry in Raleigh County, when friends and family saw him go under.

Orignial Story--It happened just after 2 p.m. Saturday near the town of Terry in Raleigh County.

A spokesperson with the National Park Service says a 33-year-old man from Arnett was swimming downstream, when friends and family saw him go under.

One witness tried to rescue him, but the man disappeared.

Private boaters from Kentucky joined in on the search and located the victim's body just after 3 p.m.

Investigators say the man was not wearing a life jacket.

The victim's name has not yet been released.
