Beckley -- Four Raleigh County women are out on bond in connection with an embezzlement ring in Beckley.
Detectives say 23-year-old Rebecca Barnett, 51-year-old Marsha Farthing and 30-year-old Stacey Whitlock, all of Beckley, have been embezzling money from their employer, Blue Roo, for the past year.
Investigators say the trio generated fraudulent checks for consignment in the names of family and friends, then put those checks into their own accounts.
Barnett, Farthing, and Whitlock are charged with falsifying accounts, embezzlement and conspiracy. Detectives say 25-year-old Lindsay Blackburn of Beckley is also facing charges. While she did not work at the store, she was still getting money from the checks.
She is charged with fraudulent schemes and conspiracy.
All four are out on bond.
Investigators say the crimes spanned from May of 2008 to July of this year and that the women stole an excess of $40,000.
