BECKLEY- -- The American Civil Liberties Union addresses relationships between the public and local law enforcement.
This event was held at Mountain State University.
ACLU West Virginia focused discussions on police policy and practice as well as racial profiling. Representatives say they want to make sure people know their rights, particularly when they're approached by a police officer. ACLU West Virginia has held several symposiums focused on police relations across the state. Organizers handed out cards with steps to follow should anyone be pulled over and arrested.
More meetings are planned.
