His girlfriend's father is now charged with murder.

WELCH -- Sheriff's deputies say they found 35-year-old Thomas Dwaye Roberts shot to death in a driveway on Coon Branch Road.

Deputies responded to the scene after a call to 911. That call came in around 7:15 Tuesday night.

Investigators say 71-year-old Luther Franklin Meadows was arrested a short time after the shooting.

He's charged with first degree murder. Deputies say the victim was dating Meadows' daughter.

Meadows is being held in the McDowell County Jail. He'll be arraigned later this morning.
