The County Commission handed five deputies checks Tuesday.
HINTON- -- The Summers County Commission issued checks to five Sheriff's deputies Tuesday.
The money was to compensate the deputies for unpaid overtime from November 2005 until July of this year.
In June, the deputies contacted the commission saying they were owed a combined total of more than $38,000.
The discrepancy allegedly came from incorrect entries and miscalculations on time cards submitted to the county clerk.
A re-examination of those time sheets found that the five deputies were due more than $18,000 or 48 percent of the amount they were looking for.
