Shady Spring Library introduces fire prevention as part of its fall reading program.
Story by Kate Krivanek
SHADY SPRING -- Youngsters in Raleigh County got a lesson in fire prevention Wednesday.
October is Fire Prevention Month, so the Shady Spring Library invited the Beaver Volunteer Fire Department to demonstrate fire safety to children. It was all part of the kick-off to the library's fall reading program.
"This time we're doing the fire safety because it's one of our important things to teach children, to stop, drop, and roll. Just one of those safety issues that they have to think about if anything dangerous happens," says Library Branch Manager, Carol Sponaugle.
The Shady Spring Library's fall reading program lasts eight weeks.
Kids get to enjoy story time, snacks, and crafts, every Wednesday at 10 a.m.
