OAK HILL -- The Oak Hill Police Department is asking southern West Virginia to dig deep and donate to its "Shop With A Cop" program.
Officers are working to collect donations to take less fortunate children in the Fayette County area shopping for the holidays.
The program is for kids from two to 12 years old.
The Fraternal Order of Police out of Fayette County has been involved with "Shop With A Cop" for about 15 years.
"These are children in the area from Fayette County that you know maybe they wouldn't be getting much for Christmas this year. We take those children, take them to a local store here in Fayette County and we let them spend $100 on themselves," said Mike Whisman, Oak Hill Police Department.
Donations can be mailed or dropped off at the Oak Hill Police Department.
Officers said 100 percent of the money will be spent on the children.
