Children were given the chance to learn from professional writers.

West Virginia Authors Day is recognized in Raleigh County.
Six authors of children's books spent the day at Daniels Elementary School.
All are from different areas of the Mountain State and have had multiple books published.
The writers each spoke to a different grade level sharing stories and offering advice on the writing process.
The kids were also given the opportunity to ask a few questions.
"I have a feeling that I'm at a truly great school here at Daniels. I can tell the children and teachers are well prepared and they're excited and they've got really pertinent questions. I'm seeing primarily third graders and that fairly young but they've got great questions," said Marc Harshman, children's author.
The authors also took some time to meet with parents and other readers in the community.
They signed copies of their books.
Organizers say they're working on receiving grant money to bring more authors to the school next year.
