BRADLEY -- The Raleigh County Sheriff's Office released the name of a fatal stabbing victim.

William King of Bradley, 33, was killed last night after getting stabbed twice - - once to the chest and a second time in the shoulder.

Detectives say King was in an altercation with 33-year-old James Pruitt, 33, at the Bay Manor Apartments in Bradley.

Deputies were dispatched 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Pruitt is in the Southern Regional Jail tonight facing voluntary manslaughter charges.

"The reason for the charge of voluntary manslaughter was chosen was because of the physical confrontation and actually that's just what the evidence and statements from the other party involved, from what we were able to gather from neighbors," said Sgt. Larry Lilly, Raleigh County Sheriff's Office.

Detectives say a kitchen knive was used in the altercation.

Pruitt reportedly called 911, himself, and was administering first-aid when first-responders arrived.
