Huntington -- Community leaders and members gathered this morning to dedicate the field in memory of former Huntington Police Officer and Cabell County Magistrate.

45 red and white balloons were released to honor Maynard's badge number. Also, a sign was put up with Maynard's slogan, " Let the Kids Play."

Maynard died this past May at the age of 52. He served 26 years with the Huntington Police department and his notable awards include the Medal of Valor and police officer of the year.
