WEST LIBERTY -- For the fourth time this season, West Liberty quarterback Zach Amedro has been named the West Virginia Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Amedro passed for 333 yards and four touchdowns in the No.18 Hilltoppers 48-42 double overtime win over No.10 Charleston. His 33 touchdown passes leads the nation.
But Amedro wasn't the only Hilltopper awarded with a player of the week distinction. Linebacker Clay Beeler is the Defensive Player of the Week, and Derrick Evans is the Special Teams Player of the Week.
Beeler had 16 tackles, including three for loss, and a sack. And Evans provided a key blocked punt that led to a touchdown. The former Tolsia High School standout also pitched in ten tackles and an interception from his defensive back position.
The Hilltoppers have won eight straight and return home to host Seton Hill next Saturday at 1 p.m.
