BECKLEY -- Thousands showed up for a H1N1 flu vaccine clinic in Raleigh County on Wednesday, Oct. 28.
Unfortunately for those at the end of the line, they ran out of shots.
According to health officials, the clinic only received 1,500 shots. By the time they opened at 7 a.m. hundreds had already been camping out waiting for the vaccine.
The line snaked around the building and through the parking lot. Some parents were upset that they did not have enough room to wait inside.
“Look at these little kids out here,” Tanya Gayheart, a grandparent, yelled.
“Missing school, out here in the cold, it’s uncalled for,” she continued.
Although they ran out of shots, a few hundred nasal mist versions of the vaccine remained at last check. Those vaccines are being given only to high risk candidates.
