BECKLEY -- The Beckley Youth Museum is sponsoring its 23rd annual Tailgate Halloween.
Kids are encouraged to get dressed up in their costumes and head to Word Park 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday for trick or treating.
Neville Street will be closed from the First Street Intersection to Heber Street.
About 40 different businesses and organizations will be set up handing out candy to the kids from their tailgates or trucks.
Beckley mayor Emmett Pugh said the event has become a tradition.
"This provides Halloween, trick or treat, in a very safe, protective environment downtown supervised with people and organizations that we know that have been sponsors with the Beckley Youth Museum and Beckley Renaissance. These are people we can trust," said Pugh.
The event is sponsored by the Youth Museum of Southern West Virginia.
The cost is $1 per child to participate.
All of the money raised will be used by the museum for other local projects throughout the year.
