Food pantries will benefit from "Food for Thought" drive.

BECKLEY -- A few people are taking their cause to the roof in Beckley Friday, Oct. 30, and they need your help to get down.
Margaret O'Neal, executive director of the United Way of Southern West Virginia, along with a few others, will climb on top of the John Eye's Big Sandy Super Store building 6 a.m. Friday.
O'Neal will stay there, rain or shine, until 30,000 non-perishable food items are collected.
It could take a couple of hours or a couple of days. It all depends on you.
This is called the "Food for Thought" food drive to benefit local pantries.
"It's an easy way to contribute to the food pantries in southern West Virginia. You can drop it off and we'll deliver it for you so you don't have to try to find the right place to take it. It's just a really good way to make yourself feel better," said O'Neal.
People are encouraged to drop off donations throughout the day.
Food can also be taken to the Kroger at Beckley Crossing.
