BLUEFIELD -- The Bluefield High School Beavers' offense returned to full strength last week with the return of junior quarterback Levi Beckett.
The junior captain returned to action in the second quarter against James Monroe last Friday.
Beckett left off where he started before breaking his collarbone seven weeks ago, leading the Beavers of the then No. 7 Mavericks.
“Levi picked us up and played well in his return,” head coach Fred Simon said.
Simon was happy with Beckett's overall performance, but knows his Beavers still have a lot to work on perpetration against Robert C. Byrd.
“Offensively, we’re close to being where we want to be, but we’ve got to get focused and ready for Robert C. Byrd,” Simon added.
With a win against the Beavers, the Eagles would clinch a playoff berth.
