TAZEWELL -- As of Monday Nov. 9, Captain Anne Hickman, has taken over the role of former Chief of Detectives, Captain David Mills at the Tazewell County Sheriff's Department.

Mills has moved onto the Cedar Bluff Police Department where he serves as their Chief of Police.

Hickman, formerly a Lieutenant, has been with the Sheriff's Department for nearly 20 years.

"I've been here 17 1/2 years. I've just recently been promoted to Captain of Detectives. I also am finishing up my masters degree in professional counseling," said Capt. Hickman. "I just have my internship and I'll have that completed."

Hickman was just appointed to the position this week. She says she's looking forward to her new responsibilities.
