BECKLEY --  Cougar pride is in full swing this week on the Mountain State University campus in Beckley.

This week marks MSU’s pride week, also known as homecoming week. It’s a time that students and faculty can wear their school spirit on their sleeves.

This week the school has planned for a variety of events to celebrate. From magicians on campus to concerts, there is a little bit of everything.

Cristi Richardson, with the Academic Affairs department, says it’s important to get the students involved.

“It really makes our campus a better place to be when our students get more involved and active in what’s going on,” said Richardson.

They’ll have plenty of opportunities to do so this week. All the activities lead up to the basketball team squaring off against Salem-International University on Saturday. A homecoming dance will follow with students being crowned Homecoming King and Queen.
