WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS -- Firefighters responded to a brush fire Monday, Nov. 16. The fire was burning along Tuckahoe Road in White Sulphur Springs.
Safety Officer, Steve White said the fire started from ashes that were dumped in the woods early Monday morning.
White says the wind likely sparked the blaze, and it spread up the hillside. The fire threatened three homes located along the hillside.
No homes were damaged and crews were able to contain the blaze just after dark.
"It was difficult because the hillside was so steep," said White. "The dry conditions didn't help either."
