BRADLEY -- A meeting was held Monday, Nov. 16 to discuss the future of Bradley-Prosperity Volunteer Fire Department.
Department board members met with firefighters and community members.
The board discussed the future of the department and the future of Bruce James as the BPVFD chief.
West Virginia State Police are looking into allegations against James. A Raleigh County firefighter claims he was assaulted by James last week.
According to Carl Allen, son of Bradley-Prosperity Volunteer Fire Department Board Member David Allen, Bruce James offered his resignation at the meeting. The board did not accept the letter of resignation, deciding to keep James as fire chief.
Allen added that the decision caused two members of the board, including his father, to walk out of the meeting.
