PRINCETON -- Spaghetti and Basketball draws scores of people to Mercer County on Thursday, Nov. 19.

The event held in observance of American Education Week included a dinner that ran from 5 until 7 p.m. and was followed by a game of hoops. The staff at Princeton Primary tipped off against members of the West Virginia Blazers and the Drug Free All Stars.

There was also some training for parents at the event. They were shown how the school uses 21st century technology to teach and help students prepare for the future.

"With American Education Week and celebrating education and the primary school we decided to just throw everything together and make it a big celebration," Princeton Primary School Curriculum Coach, Kelly Stanley said.

Money collected from the event goes to support the family of a Princeton Primary School guidance counselor, whose husband is suffering from a medical crisis.
