Marshall improves to 3-1 on season.
By Jared Fialko
HUNTINGTON -- If the Herd was still hurting following their loss at Old Dominion, there were no signs of it on Wednesday night.
Marshall stormed out to a 20 point lead and never looked back against Lamar, en route to a 87-74 victory.
Tyler Wilkerson led the way with 18 points and seven blocks.
Ty only collected three rebounds though.
Hassan Whiteside took his job of cleaning the glass, finishing with 12 rebounds in addition to 14 points.
"We switched it up," Wilkerson said. "He got the boards, I got the blocks."
Damier Pitts and Shaquille Johnson also chipped in with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Marshall renews the "Battle for the Bell" basketball-style on Saturday.
The Herd and the Ohio Bobcats tip it off at 7 p.m. at the Charleston Civic Center.
